Job Opportunity: CNC Field Service Technician

Job Duties Upon Completion of Training

  • Self-directed travel to customer sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on CNC routers and machining centers.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify problems and provide effective solutions.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment.
  • Provide training to customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Document all service activities, including parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Travel: Must be able to travel extensively, including overnight trips. Candidates should expect frequent domestic air travel, Monday through Friday.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in wiring control systems (480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O, and sensors).
    • Experience installing, parametrizing, and troubleshooting variable frequency drives.
    • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and general mechanical systems.
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role.
    • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery.
    • Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints.
    • CNC machine experience is a plus.
    • Experience with Fanuc control systems is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Schedule:
    • 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
    • Overtime available.
    • Expected hours: 40–60 per week.
  • Travel Requirement:
    • 75% domestic travel (Required).
